“I need them more than you do.”

Inside the app

This is what the app looks like.

What’s inside

Everything you need. Plus Lungo.

Streaks that fit your habit

Smoke-free, vape-free or both combined — your streak matches exactly what you’re quitting.

A check-in that feels like feeding a pet

One minute a day with a grumpy frog instead of a guilt trip. He acts unimpressed. He is not.

An item shop for frog business

Your virtual savings become hats, furniture and trophies for Lungo’s rooms. Important purchases.

Craving mode

A guided one-minute breathing exercise for the moments your brain gets loud.

Insights that mean something

Time won back, money saved, avoided cigarettes and pods, cravings and triggers — in plain numbers.

Relapse without shame

A slip doesn’t erase what you’ve built. Lungo notes it, shrugs, and keeps sitting next to you.

How it works

You quit. Lungo takes over the rest.

1

Set your starting point

Tell Lungo what you’ve been smoking or vaping — cigarettes, vapes or both. He turns it into your personal daily budget of avoided cigarettes and puffs.

2

Check in once a day

Open the app and hand your avoided units over to Lungo. That’s the whole ritual. It takes seconds.

3

Lungo loves to smoke

He will literally smoke your leftover cigarettes so you don’t have to.

4

Spend what you never smoked

The money you save unlocks cosmetic items for Lungo. Hats, mostly. He pretends not to care.

Lungo is a companion for motivation, tracking and cravings — not a medical product, and no replacement for professional advice.

Research & design

What research on quit smoking apps means for Lungo

We took research on quit smoking apps into account when building Lungo. Three things mattered most to us. We wanted you to see your progress, record the triggers that matter to you, and have something practical to do when a craving hits.

See your progress

Tracking progress was one of the most common features in the quit smoking apps researchers studied. Lungo shows you how long you’ve been smoke-free and how much you’ve likely saved. The daily check-in gives you a moment to notice how far you’ve come.

Notice your own triggers

In app reviews, people wanted more ways to record their personal triggers. Lungo lets you add your own to your craving log, like “commute”. You can look back and see which situations keep coming up.

Have something to do when a craving hits

Bendotti et al. suggest games as one way to offer a distraction. When an urge hits, you can take a guided breathing minute or keep your hands busy for a bit with Fly Hunt. Your pixel frog will be there for your next check-in.

Built to be trusted

Your quit journey is nobody’s ad space.

No ads. Ever.

Lungo works with sensitive personal data — your attention is not for sale here.

Privacy-first

Lungo can be used locally on your phone. Cloud sync only happens with your explicit consent, in the account flow.

Free where it matters

The core quit loop — streak, buddy, daily check-in and craving help — is free.

Why Lungo exists

Quitting shouldn’t feel like an empty spreadsheet.

Most quit apps hand you a timer and a chart. Day 4 looks exactly like day 3, cravings don’t read statistics, and one slip resets the counter — and your motivation — to zero. What’s missing isn’t more data. It’s something to show for all that not-smoking.

FAQ

Fair questions. Honest answers.

What is Lungo?

Lungo is a playful app for people who want to stop smoking, vaping or both. It combines a quit tracker with a buddy: a pixel frog who takes over the cigarettes and pods you avoid and turns them into visible progress.

How does Lungo work?

You set what and how much you used to smoke or vape. Lungo calculates your daily budget of avoided cigarettes and puffs. At the daily check-in you hand that progress over to Lungo, and he converts it into XP, streaks, achievements and rewards.

What makes Lungo different from other apps for quitting smoking?

Lungo turns your progress into XP, streaks and rewards for your pixel buddy, giving you something to build beyond a smoke-free counter.

What does “hand your cigarettes over to Lungo” mean?

It’s the game inside the app: cigarettes and pods you didn’t consume are passed to Lungo in his pixel world, where he smokes them for you. Nothing about it involves real smoking — the app never encourages you to smoke or vape.

Does Lungo help with quitting vaping too?

Yes. You can pick cigarettes, vapes or both, and your streak, daily budget and insights adapt to what you’re quitting.

Is Lungo a free stop smoking app?

Yes. The core quit journey — craving logging, breathing exercises, streaks, check-ins, savings and your Lungo buddy — is free. Lungo Plus is optional and adds deeper craving insights, exclusive cosmetics and extended calendar history. You don’t need Plus to quit with Lungo.

Is Lungo a medical treatment?

No. Lungo is a personal companion for tracking, motivation, reflection and dealing with cravings. It doesn’t replace professional medical advice.

What happens to my data?

Lungo is built privacy-first: no ads and no selling of data. The app can be used locally on your phone; cloud sync only happens in the consent-based account flow. Details are in the privacy policy.
